The  Center for Engineering MechanoBiology (CEMB) is recruiting for its 7th Summer Research Experience for Teachers to introduce local STEM teachers to topics in cellular biology, molecular biology, bioengineering, the mechanics of cells and tissues relating to cancer and other diseases, along with various aspects of plant cell biology and growth.   The program includes a week-long workshop focusing on mechanobiology content, laboratory and demonstration activities, and facility tours.  The remaining 5 weeks involve teachers working in a Penn research lab on a specific research project. Participating teachers are expected to develop lessons or activities that will be integrated into their teaching practice in the following academic year.  Along with supporting teachers through summer stipends, we offer additional financial and staff resources to facilitate classroom integration.
